Giving
Our Conference of St. Vincent de Paul at Divine Mercy Church is a non-profit, 501C3,
faith based out reach that concentrates its focus on the needy who live in Merritt
Island without regard to ethnicity. Last year the total number of people served
by us was 4,792, an increase of 18% over the prior year. Total assistance provided
by us, including in-kind goods and services amounted to over $89,000. Less than 1%
of our total expenses are attributed to administrative costs. Our membership consists
of 100% volunteers. Moreover, they have personally provided some 5,200 hours of their
time and over 11,000 miles of automobile use in order that we may serve our neighbors
in need.
Donations made to our organization are of course tax exempt. We primarily accept
cash, food, and used automobiles; however with enough notice, we can arrange for acceptance of clothing, appliances and furniture.
